540296 2007-04-12 03:48:00 Power settings – cannot get the screen to switch off! Been in and set up the power options under Power Options – set Power4 Gear Entertainment to switch off the screen after 20 minutes (while plugged in) and checked the task bar icon and it shows that setting, but no joy. OK have a screen saver slide show running but that should not alter anything?
Vista Home Premium running on a Asustek 53JC Laptop. 1.60GHz, 1596 Mhz, 2. 1.26GB RAM.
Many thanks

540297 2007-04-12 04:51:00 i know, like my screen dosent turn off when i close the lid. Try turning off the screensaver. And I heard there were power issues with vista which microsoft released an update for, so try Windows Update mabix (10146)

540300 2007-04-15 23:32:00 Grrrrrrrrr! Now this has stopped working and have changed NOTHING!! In Power Settings have it on “Balanced” – turn off screen after 45 minutes and this setting shows as this in the power icon in the status bar. Had worked fine for a couple of days!
Anyone had similar probs or any suggestions?
Many thanks
