540026 2007-04-11 04:07:00 You didnt put the jumper on the back of this hdd on the jumper saying 32GB did u?? (if theres a jumper there).

And what did u format the hdd in? FAT32, or NTFS?

What version of Windows is it?

540027 2007-04-11 04:15:00 nope ... jumper is sent to Master .... and NTFS formatted ... XP Pro SP2 MattnBJ (12119)
540028 2007-04-11 04:39:00 Check your Bios and switch on LBA (logical Block Addressing) which I believe is required for larger drives. porkster (6331)
540029 2007-04-11 04:40:00 i have it set to Auto - LBA .... MattnBJ (12119)
540030 2007-04-11 04:44:00 What does the BIOS see? 32 or 80 GB??

Only other thing, I can think of is the jumper besides the Master and Slave, is set to 32 GB on the back of it.

Is it or was it partitioned?? Before u formatted it??

In Windows, go to control panel / admin tools / computer management / disk management. Does the rest of the hdd appear here as unallocated?

540031 2007-04-11 04:57:00 Bios sees 31.4 .... and no the jumper is set to Master ... there is no other jumper on it ... (diagram on the HD itself) .... yes it was partitioned and then i formatted it and fresh installed it ...

And under diskmanagment .. the rest isn't read ... just says healthy 31.4

540034 2007-04-11 18:47:00 sure the jumper may be set to master but it may also be set to 'master 32gb'....please be EXTRA specially careful when you read the diagram..... drcspy (146)
