540324	2007-04-12 02:37:00	Hi All. This question, in various ways, has probably been asked before. We have Sky TV, Limited viewing, as in cheapest. We do not have a DVD recorder. We have a DVD player & a Video Tape recorder set up. Just occasionally I would like to record music. I would have to record it to my Comp. We have an Imation DVD External Burner multi recorder unit. I assume that I cannot record directly into this, I would have to go thro the Comp.? There are various outlet sockets back of the TV & the Sky Box.At the back of the Tin Box, do I need to connect to the Blue Socket for "Input" ? Also which TV/Sky outlet should I use. Do I need a third party program to put the audio onto the Comp. Thanks PJ	Poppa John (284)
540325	2007-04-12 02:47:00	Once u record whatever to video, you can connect the video to the computer. BUT, you need some kind of capture card / tuner with Video in / CVBS adapter on it, and a program to record from this connection Then all you do, is connect the video's Video out to this connection, audio out from the VCR to line in, on the soundcard. Just make sure line in is ticked in sounds, or the captured video wont have sound. Then load the program (select the s-vhs or whatever the connection is called) on the capture card / tuner. And it'll record it in Mpeg2 format. Then u can burn it to DVD.	Speedy Gonzales (78)

The easiest way to do it would be an RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack cable connect the RCA plugs to the female RCA audio outs of the TV (red and white) and the 3.5mm male plug to the line in on your PC and use a program like Audacity to record the line in stream and then save it as a wav and use your DVD burning software to burn to DVD if you want	The_End_Of_Reality (334)
540327	2007-04-12 02:54:00	Don't know the decoder box set up . . but ANYTHING you can hear and play on your computer is "savable" if you want to keep it . Use some sort of line out from your decoder, and go into the line-in on your tower (that's computer jargon for the upright box with the fans in it) . Turn on Audacity and make sure you have turned off any microphones you have in the drop down box first . . . that way you'll not get any feedback and snoring into the stream . I also like to hit the button on the mike to turn it off just in case . . . . . When you are done, you can make a lot of different settings and changes like increase volume, change pitch, taper off or on a lead-in or lead-out . . etc . . . the choices are pretty vast . Anyway . . I save all my recorded stuff by exporting it as an MP3 to a folder set up for that purpose . Attach a file name and off you go! I like to have WMP open and play the files . . then hit the ADD TO LIBRARY . . . . for the file you are playing to get it into the WMP library list too . The program also speaks CTRL and ALT codes too, ie: CTRL/A is "all" . . . . . and CTRL/S is "send" . . . etc . . . . .	SurferJoe46 (51)
540328	2007-04-13 10:34:00	OK, a bit more on this. I downloaded Audacity & got RCA & a Stereo Jacks from DSE. All I have to do now is figure out how to use Audacity. Any way. If I stream a radio station, to record it, do I have to go thro Audacity? I played the music but could not see any way to record it onto the computer when using WMP11. Can it be done? 540329	2007-04-13 10:50:00	You'll need something to record from Line in, if its going to line in on the soundcard . Its a lot easier if u want to record a video to a PC, to connect the VCR up like what I posted earlier . I tried it once . It was surprised how clear it was, then I burned it to dvd . So you can hear it . Other than that, it would be easier to buy a tv tuner with FM radio on it . If its FM you're trying to record .
