But I am only looking at how well it protect against virus, spywares etc? NOD32 I have heard it got 100% rate for viruses and trogan, what would be PC-cillin? Does NOD32 have spyware cleaner? |

Somehow people still seem to get some kind of spyware, adware, virus, trojan etc. Just check out some of the hijackthis logs in here. And if you're into P2P or similar, I would say there's no point in getting any of the above. As sooner or later, you'll get infected with something anyway. |

Many say Norton is not great and I agree as I have used Norton corp 10 to compare. PC-cillin seems good as it is an all in one. Just wanted to know what is the rating for PC-cillin 2007 now? Nod32 consistently get 100% rating for trojans and viruses. Agreed that nothing is absolute, however, something is better than nothing and some is definitely better than others. Hopefully they are closing this gap up. | lightfoot (39) | ||

Windows firewall is not a true firewall I know, but causes less problems when teamed up with a good antivirus. |

| 540254 | 2007-04-12 01:31:00 | never like pc-cillin so nod32 it is :) + you can use one of the many free firewalls that are out there. anything, even ZA, is better than windows firewall. | tweak'e (69) | ||

Yes, mine is an older version, but my brother is using their newest one. He has asked me about various programs, his P2P program, Second Life and so on. He always gets told the issue is wwith his firewall by the support people and every time it has been something else. He is happily using it still. Sometimes I think people don't/can't troubleshoot and blame it on the nearest most likely thing without testing properly. |
