| 541434 | 2007-04-16 10:05:00 | I mean not the system properties System Manufacturer but the MSInfo one. I also visited the XP geeks web and no luck still. MSinfo gets its info from whatever the mobo is. I would say, it ends up under System properties. Where u said above. I think you're talking about the oeminfo.ini file which is a text file. It shows u here (support.microsoft.com) How to do it. The following is an example of the Oeminfo.ini file: [General] Manufacturer = MyCompany, Inc. Model = Brand X Processor SupportURL = http://www.mycompany.com LocalFile = C:\Winnt\Web\LocalFilename.htm [Support Information] Line1= For Technical Support: Line2= to obtain updated drivers or for information on frequently Line3= asked questions, visit the MyCompany technical Line4= support web site at: Line5= Line6= www.mycompany.com The latest Netguide has an ad about This (usa.asus.com) |

| 541436 | 2007-04-16 11:00:00 | R600XT will be officially known as Radeon HD 2900 XT when it launches in May . It seems that R600XT will be available first followed the XTX . According to DailyTech, the Radeon HD 2900 series features 320 stream processors and supports 128-bit HDR rendering, 24xAA, physics processing . Other features include integrated HDMI output capabilities with 5 . 1 surround sound . Although the wait for R600 is unbearable but the consoling part is that R600XT stood up well against NVIDIA GeForce 8800 series . Using a Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor, R600XT scored 12K in 3DMark06, slightly better than a GeForce 8800 GTX . It is benched on the latest 8 . 361-RC4 drivers, quite an improvement over the older sets of drivers . The core clock of R600XT stood at 750MHz while the memory is at 820MHz . At the top of the DirectX 10 chain, is the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT . The AMD ATI Radeon HD 2900-series features 320 stream processors, over twice as many as NVIDIAs GeForce 8800 GTX . AMD couples the 320 stream processors with a 512-bit memory interface with eight channels . CrossFire support is now natively supported by the AMD ATI Radeon HD 2900-series; the external CrossFire dongle is a thing of the past . The R600-based ATI Radeon HD 2900-series products also support 128-bit HDR rendering . The ATI Radeon HD 2900-series supports up to 24x anti-aliasing . NVIDIAs GeForce 8800-series only supports up to 16x anti-aliasing . AMDs ATI Radeon HD 2900-series also possesses physics processing . New to the ATI Radeon HD 2900-series are integrated HDMI output capabilities with 5 . 1 surround sound . However, early images of AMDs OEM R600 reveal dual dual-link DVI outputs, rendering the audio functions useless . AMDs RV630-based products will carry the ATI Radeon HD 2600 moniker with Pro and XT models . The value-targeted RV610-based products will carry the ATI Radeon HD 2400 name with Pro and XT models as well . The entire AMD ATI Radeon HD 2000-family features the latest Avivo HD technology . AMDs upgraded Avivo with a new Universal Video Decoder, also known as UVD, and the new Advanced Video Processor, or AVP . UVD previously made its debut in the OEM-exclusive RV550 GPU core . UVD provides hardware acceleration of H . 264 and VC-1 high definition video formats used by Blu-ray and HD DVD . The AVP allows the GPU to apply hardware acceleration and video processing functions while keeping power consumption low . |

| 541439 | 2007-04-16 20:07:00 | Wow that sounds like a beast, pctek....any estimations on price and power consumption? Nope. Most likely around the same price as the 8800GTX was. Power, who knows. |

| 541440 | 2007-04-16 23:06:00 | Rumor has it that ATI will attempt to undercut nVidia by around $100-$150 US, so the HD2900XT will sell for the same price as the 8800GTS. Thats the reason why its taken so long to launch the product, ATI went to 65nm so they could get decent yeilds and thus undercut nVidia! | Pete O'Neil (6584) | ||
