An example would be surfing youtube and having several tabs open. id be watching one and the other tabs would be open also i could flick back and forth and noticed it got to some decent levels eg just now it hit 300 megs! Was wondering where all the lag was with only Firefox open. CPU hitting 99% also. Killed the process and started again, fine but same.. over a period of time gathers ram. Seems to only happen when im on youtube. Im guessing lots of flashboxes open is the cause.Although it didnt seem to be as bad when it was versions 1.5 and prior. Be interesting if anyone else also experiencing the same symptoms. Running XP Pro. Cheers Term X |

Have a look here: kb.mozillazine.org It also gives a list of extensions which can cause problems: kb.mozillazine.org I've noticed my PC becoming sluggish with programs such as photoshop and adobe acrobat reader more than I have with Firefox. Depends how you surf I guess... |

| 541184 | 2007-04-15 23:07:00 | I've found with SeaMonkey that any Flash videos (like those on YouTube) will gobble memory like no tomorrow. Same with viewing a lot of pictures in tabs, ones embedded in a webpage are fine though. I have 1.5GB of RAM, so 300MB useage is not too much of a problem, but SeaMonkey does get very slow once the RAM useage gets too high and needs to be closed & reopened. |

| 541186 | 2007-04-16 07:25:00 | My FF2 is now using 71 Mb, with 9 active tabs. Have not noticed anything different than with FF 1.5 |

| 541190 | 2007-04-16 19:41:00 | More likely to be flashplayer using the memory than Firefox, though FF has been documented as sometimes having memory leaks I notice konq uses stuff-all, but when it needs to use flash, the RAM usage moves up significantly |
