| 541048 | 2007-04-14 19:23:00 | Have you ever installed a program and then when you uninstall, it keeps the files behind. Or does not do the uninstallation at all? What causes this and what can be done to make sure your computer is clean of the files? | xarzu (12139) | ||
| 541049 | 2007-04-14 19:32:00 | If whatever program you've installed says its been uninstalled. And u find it left folders behind, just go to program files (if the folder is still there) and delete it. (This is for XP). And most probably other OS's (2k +) Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\program folder. Delete its folder, here as well. Then here: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\program folder And here C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\program folder. Yahoo is one program that does this. It doesnt remove its folders, once u uninstall it. You can then use something like ccleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com) Then will remove the temp files etc and can also remove invalid entries in the registry. |

| 541052 | 2007-04-14 21:40:00 | This thread is being locked now because xarzu has posted this identical question all over the web . It is not a genuine request for help, but the starting post of an advertising campaign . So I'm cutting their campaign short . As we know some people get a bit trigger happy, so if you do suspect the genuineness of a post, please just alert the mods who will be able to investigate it properly rather than posting accusations . Ta . |
