540960 2007-04-14 07:48:00 It depends on, what kind of adsl modem is installed.

Some you have to dialup to connect. Others when u turn the PC on, you're on the net. Do you have to double click on an icon to connect?

And either leave the PC on just turn the monitor off, or there maybe an option in the BIOS somewhere, to turn the PC on, at a set time.

540962 2007-04-14 07:50:00 BB automatically connects when you turn the computer on and as long as the model cable is in the ethernet port. There could be some program which could automatically wake up her computer but you'll have to wait for the wizards to sort you out with that. Cheers:D beeswax34 (63)

540964 2007-04-14 08:00:00 You could try running internet explorer, then go to tools/internet options/connections.

If your dialup connection appears here (like dialup), I dont know if adsl will appear here, (or whether it'll work) I'm not on broadband.

Change it to always dial my default connection. Then OK. This may or may not work.

And for it to turn on, go into the BIOS and go thru the options, to see if there's an option where u can set it to come on at whatever time

540968 2007-04-14 17:56:00 Depends what you have. If you have a router/modem in one then simply leave it on all the time and you will be connected to the net 24/7. I do this quite often Big John (551)
