| 540932 | 2007-04-14 06:35:00 | I have a family member looking for help with a failed Vista installation that has taken out the original operating system. No recovery discs. Compaq Presario SR1925AN original setup, - WinXP Media Centre on c:\ - Recovery on j:\ I have a working WinXP Home installation on d:\ but that lacks the proprietry software that came with the machine whereby you can access the recovery partition. Now - nothing on c:\ - temporary XPHome on d:\ - Recovery on j:\ I can't find an obvious setup.exe or similar amongst the recovery partition files/folders. What do I need to do to use the recovery partition to return the machine to it's original state with XPMedia on c:\? |
