540751 2007-04-13 04:06:00 Yes i know there is a newer version but it is pretty dear

However version 8 will do everything i want and i know it is cheap, i was about to buy it from serif (www.serif.com) in the UK who have it for what I assume is $10 US (prices are in dollars not sterling) but then the shipping is about $25 US, which does seem a shade high

I have seen it at DSE for around $50, but i would like it cheaper

If worst comes to worse, I may have to contact my UK rellies

540753 2007-04-13 05:44:00 When I purchased Acronis 10, I downloaded it. No problems and I only have 256k 'broadband', so this would save you the shipping charge. It was only around $60 NZD, cheaper than Acronis 9 at DSE. OK, I know you want something cheaper - there must be a company offering downloads instead of shipping a CD. Strommer (42)

540755 2007-04-13 09:34:00 BTW, if you do find Acronis for only $10, be sure to check that the site is a legit company and not one phishing for your credit card info. Strommer (42)

Thought I'd seen it. Acronis True Image 8 Personal (not sure what the personal bit is!) is on the July 2006 disc of Microsoft Windows Australian mag for free. Sorry can't load it to check on the build as I have 10 on my pc.The only thing is that version 8 doesn't image the MBR, pretty sure I read that when 9 was released.
I did use 8 a few times with my old pc, very handy. So pm me if you want ........
