541192 2007-04-16 23:23:00 I've been having a problem with my pc at home using firefox in forums. If i press enter twice quickly to leave a line, it hangs, and brings the whole pc to a screaming halt...

Doing a memory test all day today, but it seems really odd. Last hardware change was a SB soundcard.

Has firefox updated recently? Ive never ever had a problem before.

541193 2007-04-17 00:01:00 I have switched to the latest version of Opera. It is really good as it incorporates email and the browser. It's an upmarket version of Netscape Navigator from what I have read. It also shows the download speed in the status bar which is nice to see, saves having a separate program running. Try it, you could be sold on it.

Peter, I have never used Opera. Is it free, and does it have adverts with it?

541196 2007-04-17 13:15:00 Well with Firefox you can just have Download Statusbar that shows you all the info in your statusbar and there are many different ones that do the same work as well. beeswax34 (63)
541197 2007-04-17 23:48:00 Hello Steve,
Yes Foxy is right it is free and no ads. I am on dial-up and it seems quite fast. The status bar shows speeds of between 4.5 and 10Kb per sec, often running at about 6Kb. I got the program from a CD with a PC World magazine.

541198 2007-04-19 13:49:00 some good replies, i might try Opera! :) Term_X (560)
541199 2007-04-20 13:36:00 I'm also having problems with tabs in the new version. Say I close 1 tab when I have 3 tabs open it often completely closes Firefox with the usual restart message next time it runs. apsattv (7406)
541200 2007-04-28 03:29:00 A lot of extensions can kill Firefox memory usage. So check for the extensions reviews before you install an extension. This memory leak is also happen on Flock browser. Shire (10317)
