541801 2007-04-17 11:45:00 When i first got my laptop a installed a trail version of MS office 2007 which included MS Outlook 2007. after the trial ended i uninstalled MS Office 2007 and used Mozilla Thunderbird for my e-mail program. When i click on an e-mail address on the internet on either IE or Firefox it opens a IE window and displays an error message 'Could not perform this operation because your default mail client is not properly installed' after clicking OK IE opens a whole lot of windows at once (up to 60) until i am able to close them all and it stops. how to i get it back to normal so that when i click on an e-mail address on the net that it opens a Mozilla Thunderbird e-mail ?

I have made sure that Mozilla Thunderbird is my default e-mail program.
If i have to reinstall Mozilla Thunderbird will i lose all the e-mails stored in it?

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium

541802 2007-04-17 13:03:00 Did you make sure in the Set Program Access and Defaults window? beeswax34 (63)
541803 2007-04-17 13:24:00 Yes, i have set it as default in the Set Program Access and Defaults window and also in the programs themselves, and it still opens IE 60 times spaceman8815 (4112)
541804 2007-04-17 20:43:00 From my experence with similar problems, the only solution that worked was to unistall and then reinstall the program. Seems to re-set the confusion:)

I would back up your profile folder before you uninstall, so your able to remove all the program and get a clean new installation.
