542983 2007-04-21 10:40:00 Hi eveyone. I recently downloaded and installed Internet Explorer 7 ... since then I've had a couple of problems and would like to know if others have had them, if there is a way to fix it, or, uninstal IE7 & re-install IE6.

Problem(s)
1 - writing viewed in IE& seems to be blurred (don't wear glasses and my eyesight is 20/20 ) yet same font + size is clear in other programmes such as Word, Excel, etc.
2 - Scrolling down page is very jerky and often takes seconds to refresh - i.e. cannot use the scroll button on the mouse without the page jumping up or down to top or bottom of page, even if only 1 "click" on the mouse wheel.

These problems have only occurred since IE7 was used and are not associated with any other programme I'm running. I've tried adjusting the screen clock & phase (17" LCD) but no improvement.

Personally, I would like to go back to IE6 if possible, but could someone tell me if it is possible without any problems.

Thanks in advance to any or all who offer help.

Regards, Dave.

542984 2007-04-21 11:00:00 I can't help you directly, but here is an article on how to unistall IE7 with windows XP. The site also contains lots of troubleshooting guides - have a look around before uninstalling.

542988 2007-04-22 02:41:00 If you're keen to retain IE7, you can. IE7 comes bundled with ClearType - you just need to run the wizard if the writing is blurred. If you can't find ClearType (have a look for it in Control Panel), it's a free download from M$.

Sorry - can't help with the mouse problem...

542989 2007-04-22 02:58:00 I had the same problem when i downloaded IE7 on our MS XP desktop computer, but it doesn't occur in MS Vista. I think it may be a compatibility problem as it may need windows vista drivers for it to work at its best. I went to firefox (tools.google.com AEg6rTaCTgBUOHd82Rgq7SzheAYmAGFkwagAbWVyP0DsgEcbnp 5b3VuZ2FzdHJvbm9tZXJzLnBpY3pvLmNvbcgBAtoBL2h0dHA6L y9uenlvdW5nYXN0cm9ub21lcnMucGljem8uY29tLz9jcj00JnJ mbT15gAIBqAMD&gclid=CI6Qh4Og1YsCFRldhgodEymSUQ) as it is easier to use and loads pages alot faster then IE spaceman8815 (4112)
542990 2007-04-22 09:36:00 Opera is the best... not sure why it does not get better press... but version 9.2 has a neat new feature called... Speed Dial... now my 9 favorite websites come up everytime I start a new tab...

IE 7 is only used when visiting the darkside www.microsoft.com that is...

542991 2007-04-28 03:16:00 I would also recommend Firefox 2 as opposed to IE 7! Shire (10317)
