542691 2007-04-20 14:49:00 I have a printer with a network card. How do I set it up to print for a network of PCs connetced through a hub? Where do I install the printer files? bpt2 (6653)
542692 2007-04-20 18:48:00 i think the printer files are required on each puter kjaada (253)
542693 2007-04-20 19:33:00 want os are you using
anything higher than 98se is easy using tcp/ip printing although it can be done on 98.
you need to know the ip the printer is using for this to work

tcp/ip printing steps on each networked networked machine
install new printer...local
donot detect new printer
create new port select tcp/ip
type ip address that the printer is using
find and install printer driver for the printer

all this can be done from the install printer wizard

The reason its a pain in 98 is because 98 does not support tcp/ip printing out the box, but it can be helped. If you are using 98 pm me a email address and I'll email an utilty that will enable you to do this on 98 but not untill monday.

542694 2007-04-21 23:22:00 Thanks for that. I'm running Xp so should be straight forward. How will I discover the printer IP? bpt2 (6653)
