| 543186 | 2007-04-22 22:44:00 | I got a small increase in speed when I changed from the Telecom supplied D-Link DSL302G to a Linksys WAG54G. Heh, currently a 10Mbit ethernet connection would perform the same as a 1Gbit connection when it comes to straight net (possibily not quite cable though) Though there is something VERY STRANGE I have noticed with my setup... Linksys WAG54G modem <--> Linksys WRT54GL as switch, when a PC is connected to the WRT (running DD-WRT firmware) pagaes VISUALLY load faster than if connected direct to the modem, pings and speed tests are exactly the same though... not quite sure how that works  but it does :D I would say stay away from D-Link :2cents: EDIT: I am 4km away from the exchange and I am lucky to get 1250kbps to Napier (or anywhere in NZ) |
