Had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions. Nice guy, dispite the negatives - we've never seen anything quite like Hello Sailor!

RIP mate.

They were a great band I saw them live at a rock concert. Graham was a great front man.

1407922 2015-09-05 07:36:00 Seen them few times play at Mainstreet club Auckland city. One time he took a while to come on stage. Not sure if he was "off". But great music with McCartney. Other bands like Toy Love, Mistakes, Stranglers, The Dudes. The Troggs (UK) use to play there. kahawai chaser (3545)
1407923 2015-09-06 23:20:00 Despite seeing him play live many times, my most vivid memory is at the gluepot : when he had a public meltdown The rest of the band had to do the best they could without him, playing other songs. It was a great night anyway , until my friend got punched in the face walking to his car. :)

Hello Sailor started in the era when NZ radio pretty much refused to play NZ bands . Despite that, they had (supposedly) the 1st no.1 NZ recorded Album in 10 years (except for a Split Enz greatest hits) . Even Dave Dobbin couldnt get airplay back then .
His 'solo' band , The Legionnaires was a great band, they really transformed the songs from his (rushed ?) 1st solo Album .
Legionaries eventually morphed back into Hello Sailor .
