1406612 2015-08-20 11:03:00 or turn it off from within the Windows Settings itself Did that today for a customer. She was quite shocked as to how much was turned on by default.

One thing I noticed, she opened skype to make sure it still worked after disabling so many advertising options -- - while its working very well in W10 - the amount of adverts :groan:

Obviously VISA is one of Microsoft "trusted Partners" - the amount of ads from them were continuous. ( and very annoying)

Back on TOPIC:

What she did like was she had gone from XP to W10 and didn't find it that hard.

1406613 2015-08-22 22:24:00 One good "feature" they have incorporated - you DONT have to sign into a Microsoft account on sign-in/start up, BUT you can sign into individual apps instead of everything. wainuitech (129)

Are they the same brand/model of computer? chances are it's just a driver niggle - you could try removing whatever software controls the fn keys and see if Windows gets it right by itself, or have a look on the manufacturer's site for an updated driver/software for the fn keys. That may or may not be available depending on the age of the laptops and how proactive the manufacturer is with writing new drivers/software.

Will wait 'til you all get it figured out for M$

Meanwhile, none of my Linux Mint PCs are phoning data to M$
as far as I can tell :p

Pretty lucky there Gaza, many out there having horror stories.
Heyho, more work (and dosh) for me sorting them out.

I learned my lesson with the original Vista pig, wait 'til the ****ers get their **** together.

1406620 2015-09-01 07:53:00 I like Web Notes in the Edge browser. As the picture shows, you can write on the screen with your finger, drag a rectangle as a snipping tool, save to favourites, then on-save a jpg to the computer

I'm also impressed by the media player efficiency. The fastest video I could lay my hands on was a 4k clip with video bitrate 97 Mbit/s. I put it on a 64 GB SD card and it played flawlessly. Not bad for a 1.6 GHz Celeron (Pavilion x360 11.6" k009tu).

(Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 defaults to saving a full HD video intended for viewing on a tablet at about 5 Mbit/s. So 97 is about 20x)

I also experimented with Throwing the Pavilion's screen to our TV. Also with pulling media off a WD Live HD media player. Both worked flawlessly. Later, I had a senior moment and thought the TV was accessing the player. It wasn't - the video was being pulled from the player to the Pavilion, then the screen Thrown to the TV! (via a PTV3000 connected to one of the TV's HDMI ports) The computer was able to do both things simultaneously without missing a beat

Given the low specs of the CPU, I'm guessing that this performance is made possible by the efficiency of W10's media handling
