| 1407841 | 2015-09-02 08:55:00 | I was curious what all could you use Microsoft Access Database for home use ? While this is very open ended question, I am wondering if there are usage scenario that are really practical and useful for home use? Cheers |

| 1407842 | 2015-09-02 09:16:00 | Hell yes. I have about 70 databases. Music, movies, books, addresses, websites, software, my hobbies (history) I have had them for over ten years so there is a lot of information in them. Some I use every day, others only once or twice a year. |

For Address's I have gone with storing on iOS smartphone with backup to iCloud so I haven't used Access for that. What I recently thought was using Access to store receipts of stuff that I buy - Inventory DB in some sense but mostly I am keen on receipts for proof of purchase for warranty/returns etc. I don't know if there is a way to have Access App maybe on iPhone that allows you to take quick pic of receipts and add them to your database via the App. With the Database residing on cloud so you could access it both from Desktop and smartphone. For now I am using OneNote which is not really elegant but gets the job done somewhat. |

| 1407845 | 2015-09-03 09:33:00 | @learning Oh I forgot, I also keep all of my receipts on Access and a list of all my appliances when bought them etc. Access is so much better at these things than say excel, as it smroe flexible and you can get the data out in so many ways. It just takes a bit more setting up |

Cheers I doubt you will be using an access app on your iPhone unless Microsoft has developed one... Pretty unlikely. Although if you have a look around the App Store you may find some existing database type storage apps or use the spreadsheet in iWork or iTunes etc |

| 1407850 | 2015-09-05 07:55:00 | In large company I worked for we used Access and Excel extensively. Really maxed them out for advanced features. But Excel was better for graphing, regression/statistical/difference/distribution analysis of very large data sets accumulated over several years. Access was used - being a relational database - for extracting reports based on keyword query info pertaining to those data sets per job request. So could collate 1000's of job requests say per time period, per company location, per customer name, per value cost, etc. Also could get nice printout summary. |
