| 1407409 | 2015-08-26 06:39:00 | I want to upgrade to a 1440p monitor after using a 1080p monitor for the last couple years. these two have caught my eye. The acer predator 27 inch 1440p G-SYNC monitor www.computerlounge.co.nz and the Asus PB328Q 32 inch 1440p monitor www.computerlounge.co.nz thoughts?? |

| 1407415 | 2015-08-26 12:11:00 | I want the Acer, but at those prices nope. Gsync lets you game smoothly at any frame rate over 30 with no screen tearing, that's why you want it. All the reviews say the difference is noticeable. I'm sticking with 1080 until monitor prices come down and graphics hardware catches up. 1440P seems like a good option but is overpriced so far. Meanwhile I game at 1080P on a $400 LG 60hz TN panel with Vsync on with a GTX980 :) I can't talk myself into spending over 1K for a nicer picture I won't notice very much most of the time. What annoys me is you can buy quite a few 4K screens cheaper than the 2560 x 1440 models I can find here. I also am tempted by the super wide screens except I don't know how many games would actually look right on them, I still play a lot of older titles from time to time and i don't want to be swapping screens around. I had a play with a 40" 4K monitor at PBtech www.pbtech.co.nz Very nice picture but still only 60hz and the default font and icon size is too damn small even at 40" Maybe windows 10 scales better but windows traditionally has not done that particularly well. |

Looks fantastic on my 27" :D Both in Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 Both handles the different size / resolution monitors just fine, in fact. Primary was 4K 27", secondary was 23" 1080p. |

I don't want to buy really good parts, but not be able to fully use them because the monitor isn't good enough. here's a link to the parts i have picked out www.amazon.com . I7 4790k processor, asus strix 970 overclocked graphics card, and 16GB ram, just for some reference to what parts i have. I don't know what you have to have in order to run a 4k monitor.
