543724 2007-04-24 05:13:00 I'm going to be arguing till im blue in the face. Either to stay on it (i did sign a 12 month contract) or to get the $99 churn fee removed.

Even if i dont get either, im changing to slingshot.
$50 for 25gb plus $10 per 10GB.
Have to move tolls though...

I'd be interested to hear a (proper!) legal opinion on how consumers stand with these 12-month contracts.

543727 2007-04-24 06:28:00 "Who uses that much? I get by on 500MB a month," some people protest whenever data usage is discussed

IMO, the only way to go these days is 0.1c (or is it 0.01c?) per mb / $1 per gb

Obviously capping is still needed to some point. I personally (am on Xnets FS/FS plan) have a cap of 10gb...simply because I don't want to pay more than $60 a month ($10 of that being mb usage if I use the whole 10gb)

543728 2007-04-24 06:48:00 Screw them all, I gave up ADSL, None of the plans are value for money. Metla (12)

Yeah - right.
After posting this I doubt it.

That aside, The internet has moved on from Dialup, Even sites like Pressf1 are difficult to use unless the connection is performing well, Many other sites are impossible to use.

And what would you save?,5 or 10 bucks a month?

Personally If I couldn't have ADSL at a minimum I wouldn't even bother, Even emailing a couple of photo's is a sad joke on dialup.

Rubbish, Websites look nothing like they did five years ago, They are saturated in content, media and advetising, The Internet in general doesn't give a rats arse what people in NZ are still using, Nor does it wait for them to catch up.

The amount of data being retrieved and the fact that the content is stored on multiple servers all cause series lag when viewed on a poor connection.

End of freakin story.

As for Wanganui, As I have already said, there is a fixed amount of lines out of Wanganui, When its busy Telecom give themselves preferance and leave whats left over for the use of customers using other ISP's, Hence nearly every night at certain times the Internet dies for many many dial up users.

You can challenge that all you want, You just dont know your arse from your tounge, Though if you still insist then get on a bus and I'll show your ignorant arse what the reality is.

543730 2007-04-24 07:58:00 Lmao.

And as per my provided info, Im using an Xtra dial up account.

Provided at no cost as well.

Muhahahaha:D:D

Oh yeah, ADSL was cut off because I didn't pay the bill.

Though Im particularly proud of this

Does xNet's website still say 0.1c/MB?

Maybe I am wrong but 1000MB x $0.1c is $100
They do say $1GB after but still $0.1c is not correct.

1000MB x $0.001c = $1

Or have I gone loopy :waughh:

543732 2007-04-24 08:25:00 $0.001c and $0.1c ?. :groan: Using both "$" and "c" is nonsense, and just increases the arithmentic confusion.

You can use the format "$0.001" or you can use "0.1c" . Those examples are the same amount.
