| 543625 | 2007-04-23 22:24:00 | I've just set up a new server with server 2003 service pack 2 & logging on to the server from a windows XP PC is very slow with windows firewall enabled on the server, but very quick with the firewall disabled. I expected the wizards to configure the firewall for me. I've added the exceptions in this (support.microsoft.com) article, but it is still slow with the firewall enabled. |

I ran a netstat with the firewall off while the client PC was logging on & saw it connected to the epmap port, so I added that to the exceptions, and now it works with the firewall on. I spent ages on this problem, then as soon as I ask for help, I figured it out myself. strange how that always happens |
