2007-04-22 21:26:00 | Hi, Recently purchased the above modem router from Dicksmiths. Having some really annoying problems with it though. Set up as is follows: Connected directly to PC with Ethernet cable to IHUG connection (7.6Mbs) - pretty straight forward wired connection. Connected wireless to Ninento Wii. This seems fine. However, my connection on the desktop keeps dropping out randomly. Timeframe varies from 10 mins to 1 hour. the ADSL light on the router turns off then it reconnects its self usually within 1 minute. Im not running any P2P when this happens, just browsing net as per usual. I have upgraded to what I think is latest firmware (Current Firmware Version : V3.00B02.NZ.20060711 ) but still have these issue. This basically makes my internet unusable for the thing i use it for most (watching live soccer from back home), as the connection keeps dropping out. Can anyone give me any ideas....im no techie at all, so if you guys need any more info then please just say! Thanks

2007-04-23 00:37:00 | nope...only modem/router and 1 telephone. thats all. so you think going thro channel 1-11 (or whatever it is) may help solve the issue?

2007-04-23 07:52:00 | changing then channel won't fix the dsl light going out,as the wireless part of the router has nothing to do with the dsl.If the dsl light goes out then the dsl is dropping and you need to get hold of your ISP and run a few tests to see why,as it may be a line fault. | Peter Coleman (597) | |
2007-04-23 08:45:00 | I had similar problems with you.I had the same model too but the disconnection wasn't that frequent.I would get disconnected every two days or 3 days. I sold the model and bought a new one and that fixed everything

2007-04-29 21:15:00 | Been intouch with DLINK, who told me to contact IHUG. There reasoning....the telephone extension cable is the problem....5m phone extension cable as I only have 1 phone outlet in this place! surely my old modem wouldve had the same problems too??
