Use Virtual dub to cut your footage into segments, Then either Premier Elements 3 or Ulead Video Studio to asemble your footage, add transitions, titles, menues, sound effects, soundtracks, special effects etc etc etc. Premier elements for example suports at least 5 audio tracks. |

| 543868 | 2007-04-25 02:20:00 | How much does Virtual Dub cost? Its free ( as already noted) but it may also pay to look at Virtualdubmod, which allows you to que multiple edits and then run em as a single task. And im pretty sure the ulead products give a 1 month period with near full features as a demo, easily good enough for a single project. |

| 543869 | 2007-04-25 02:27:00 | Thanks for that guys. I am actually looking at doing a lot more video editing in the future as time allows. I'd like to get some good skiing/snowboarding footage with good sound tracks added.:) | winmacguy (3367) | ||
| 543870 | 2007-04-25 02:59:00 | In which case Virtualdub may well be the best tool in your...uh...toolbox, Definitly grab it and explore all its features and capabilities, Its not a tool for doing an entire project start to finish but the tasks it does do are pretty impressive. And before we write off Windows Movie maker as junk I have seen some pretty impressive projects done with it. Like this one youtube.com |

| 543871 | 2007-04-25 03:11:00 | Cheers Metla. I like the video clip overall. The intro was slightly jerky. The sound track was excellent! The transition stages were very abrupt. The editing was good. I hope my first effort will either be the same or slightly smoother. |

If this thread were a room you wouild have sucked all the air out of it, What a pity the lad who created that video will probally never chance upon this thread so in turn will miss out on the chance to point out how moronic your post is. |

| 543873 | 2007-04-25 10:28:00 | Just adding my design orientated opinion to his work. I have had plenty of people judge my design and print work to varying degress of harshness which tends to be normal among creatives. I am currently compiling a skiing road trip (of sorts) in iMovie which is made up of assorted stuff that I have collected on my DV cam over the last 3 years or so. I have a feeling it is going to take a while as I still have to ad a bit more actual skiing footage to it during the season. |
