544827 2007-04-28 00:30:00 XP.all patched.

When starting the comp, it shuts down emediately after the boot screen.
It doesn't even give an option of safe mode to boot to either.
Any ideas would be most welcome.
Thanks

Hook.

544828 2007-04-28 00:32:00 sounds like it is struggling to load device drivers, any new devices lately? SolMiester (139)

544830 2007-04-28 00:49:00 No new devices and no beeps.
I slaved the hdd onto my comp and cleaned out truckloads of spyware trojans etc,but it still has the boot problem..the reason I slaved it in the first place.
I'll keep scratching....thanks

544831 2007-04-28 01:03:00 You sure you've got the right hdd to boot from in the BIOS??

If you slaved the other hdd?

Was the hdd that was full of spyware the boot disk before?? Or did it come from another PC?

Sure have.

Was the hdd that was full of spyware the boot disk before??

On the comp it came from it was.

It won't even boot any screen now. But I am getting some beeps, as follows.....2 beeps, rather quick, then pause 1 beep. I'm sure of the 2 beeps but my hearing has faded, and the pause to the 1 beep could be related to this.

544833 2007-04-28 06:00:00 Well I found the cause of the problem after this message appeared :

"stop, coooo135, winsrv was not found." (short version).

any way, got a patch for it, but I need some help on how to instal it, bearing in mind the comp won't boot up.
Would I do this through the command screen?

What do you mean on the comp it came from? This is now trying to boot on a different PC? Then I'm not suprised. You can't do that. All the drivers would be different.

Run a repair install on it. Boot off the Windows CD, select Enter to install at the first option screen, then choose R for Repair at the second option screen.
It won't loose your data, just fix the system stuff.
