544524 2007-04-26 12:48:00 Hi,

I changed internet providers today and in Mozilla Thunderbird i can receive e-mails good but get this error message when trying to send an e-mail:

an error occurred while sending mail. the mail server responded 5.7.1 service
unavailable; client host [125.238.58.17] blocked using xbl.spamhaus.org;
www.spamhaus.org please verify that the e-mail address is correct in your mail preferences and try again.

I have put in all the correct settings provided by my internet provider.

what can i do to allow me to send e-mails again?

544525 2007-04-26 19:13:00 Double check that the smtp setting is correct. Greg (193)
544526 2007-04-26 19:24:00 The best way to test your email is working is to send one to yourself. That way you should see it go out, and come back OK.

If that works, then the problem is with the email address of the person you are trying to send to.

544527 2007-04-26 22:35:00 Hi

Check you have the right port allocated.

The default to send mail is 25

The default to recieve mail is 110

Reminds me of a similar problem I had till I checked what the default ports should be...

544528 2007-04-26 22:54:00 The IP address was found in the CBL (Composite Blocking List) used to prevent spam.

You may need to talk to Xtra as it was their IP address that seems to have found its way onto a spam blocking list.

544530 2007-04-28 08:17:00 No it's not a firewall issue at all. It's a spam blocking list issue with an ISP. godfather (25)
