544902 2007-04-28 02:45:00 I need a valid URL to post an image in the background of a website I have . . . I though it would be where the "Properties" values pointed to, but it won't accept it as valid .

Any thoughts?

I get this:

C:\Documents and Settings\MyNameHere\Desktop\KODAK PIXS\BAD DRIVERS IN HEMET

. . . . . when I check the target for the picture . . . isn't this good enuff?

544903 2007-04-28 03:12:00 You first need to upload the pic to your website (I would suggest uploading it to a folder called “images” or what every folder you currently have all your website images in).

Then you can get the correct url, as if you have:

C:\Documents and Settings\MyNameHere\Desktop\KODAK PIXS\BAD DRIVERS IN HEMET

You will only be able to access the pic & no one else will be able to.

This should be the correct url: * images/BAD DRIVERS IN HEMET.jpg **

* images = what every folder you currently have all your website images in

** If I was you I would rename that image so it does not have all those spaces in the name so the file name would look a bit like:

BAD_DRIVERS_IN HEMET.jpg instead of BAD DRIVERS IN HEMET.jpg,

If you remove all the spaces from the file name or add _ to the file name to replace the spaces, then you will have less trouble linking up the image

I Hope this helps :), Any Questions let me know

OK . . I got it into F1 Uploads area, and got a valid URL . . . but somehow YouTube cannot see it to put it behind my site . . even though it says the file is acceptable . . . maybe it'll just take some time huh?

Here's the linked URL I sent them: . imagef1 . net . nz/files/F1_SS_02 . JPG" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz . . . and it works as a URL everywhere but YouTube .

544905 2007-04-28 04:19:00 Can you tell us where your site is you are trying to put this image at.
Do you mean you want to have it as the background for the page?
You would place it in the html header :
<head>
<style>
body
{
background-image: url("path/to/F1_SS_02.JPG")
}
</style>
</head>

The image should be uploaded to wherever your site is hosted - and as this image is OVER 3 MEG!!! you should reduce the file size by at least 90% - at that size it will take the poor buggers on dialup about 9 minutes just to load the background!! LOL
That doesnt mean you have to reduce the size - just the quality, which will still be acceptable....

544906 2007-04-28 04:31:00 Here's the site ( . youtube . com/results?search_query=SurferJoe46&search=Search" target="_blank">www . youtube . com) . . . It's a YouTube one . . and they allow you to use a URL for the file in the background . . no HTML that I can see .

OK . . . where do I go to reduce the resolution or is that dpi?

Graphics are NOT my strength .

OOOps . . . . It looks like I would have to open the EDIT area to show that link . . . so I put the general link in instead . . . For some reason (me, I think) I cannot find the webpage that I have set up except in the EDIT mode . . and I don't want that on an open site here . .

I gotta work on the size thing first . . . . .

544907 2007-04-28 04:45:00 Interesting photo - school bus crossing the centre (USA:center) yellow line into oncoming traffic...

But I could also ask, what was the photographer doing - I assume it was you Joe?

From the perspective of the viewer, the photographer was also over the centre line (on foot perhaps?) :D - although since it doesn't seem to be a crossing (USA:crosswalk), wouldn't this be classed as jaywalking?

Well . . . OK . . I was out in the street taking the shot . . . but the bus had passed me on my left (remember we drive on the RIGHT side of the street here) and I was waiting for my turn to get into the left turn pocket too!

Traffic was still waiting for a green light though . . so everyone's stopped, waiting . . . and I wanted to get this sorta shot so he couldn't say it was a "perspective" or "parallax" view and therefor not what he actually did!

He actually passed two other vehicles to get where he is in that shot, including me .

I sent this shot to the school bus manager's office . . they were interested in getting it . . . .

Sad thing was, that the driver saw me taking the picture and as I passed him when he turned and got into the slow lane, he gave me the finger .

That was what mad me angry and I went all the way with this guy .

He'll probably loose his Class "A" chauffeur's license for this little trick!

544909 2007-04-28 06:11:00 OK - I see the image at your PROFILE (www.youtube.com) page - tho you only see a small pieces of viewable background.
But even if could, you would only see barely half of the photo as the size is too large - and this time I mean the actual dimensions (which will also take care of the filesize anyway)
I'd use something about this (www.imagef1.net.nz) size, (a third of original dimensions) which would then all fit on your profile page - and makes the filesize go down from over 3 meg to 125 k
hope that helps some
