| 544077 | 2007-04-24 23:44:00 | My computer that I've had for about 6 months is starting to not function properly. It started getting the blue screen frequently, saying something about hardware and software and disabling BIOS, I can copy the complete message if you need it. Now every once in a while (like right now) I can get on and it brings up a message saying the system recovered from a serious error. Every other time, right when I log on I immediately get a blue screen. I have found that it helps to return to the last time the system worked option, but that may be a coincidence. For what it is worth I recently had this problem also and finally tracked it down to a backup program "Retrospect" scheduled to run at a daily time. Stopped it being loaded at startup and have not had a problem since. XP Home SP2 on my machine. Think the trouble may have been caused by one of MS recent security updates. |
