Only 20? Nah Im sure there's way more than that... we're not talking about in a single road in one direction remember ;)

Ive got one of those places, thats all that matters :D

545278 2007-04-30 15:08:00 How many houses can be built within 200m radius?

The question is not unlike how many houses can be supplied with electricity from a single power substation/kiosk transformer. The distances for the low voltage are similar.

Typically it would max out at about 100 - 200 in a normal high density subdivision. So I fail to see how 20 would be the answer, the feeders (wires) radiate more like wheel spokes from each close sub-node.

Everyone knows what they are like. But a lot of people seem to be married to them

Do we have a choice? Whoever your ISP is, comes back to Telecom. I don't think any ISP in NZ can guarranttee that they can deliver faster speed than Xtra.

545281 2007-04-30 22:31:00 Ah, but you can avoid that ISPs issues, like Traffic Shaping, unreliable DNS etc.. Chilling_Silence (9)

Me I am with IHug and consistantly get 800KB/sec download speeds. Uses the bandwidth pretty fast but you dont have to wait long. Also it only costs $2 per GB over 20GB per month so economics are not all that bad in the end. I have only gone over the 20GB twice in 8 months.
