544953 2007-04-28 07:44:00 IMO Opera has been running like a dog since I did the update a few weeks ago and got the new version. A very un-scientific opinion I hasten to add! ;)

Keep on getting a message to the effect of a URL can't be found when I select it from Bookmarks, but when I push Enter the page pops up.

Will look at going back to IE7. Despite what some here say, I can't see anything wrong with it. Opera was an experiment, which I just stuck with.

544954 2007-04-28 07:50:00 The site has slowed down since, you guessed it, the advent of the avatars.

To me it was more since/just after PC World moved offices that PressF1 slowed down (&/or after the domain name stuff up)

544956 2007-04-28 08:45:00 Hi Speedy-I had better be quick about this. I sem to recall I had adblock at one point which caused problems loading pages or websites -might be worth having a look at deleting it to see if it solves the problem. Doesn't appear likely though but worth a try. I think from memory if it's active any website that has any sort of adds will have a problem loading.
Regards Gordon.

544957 2007-04-28 09:49:00 Hi Speedy
Yes, at times, over the past 7/10 days, PressF1 downloads very slowly but Consumer Magazine even worse. Seems to be the NZ websites !!

544958 2007-04-28 09:51:00 I use FeedDemon for reading the forum pages (which has an IE-based browser built in), but for my default browser use Opera 9.2 (Speed Dial  ) which I use to view responses to threads I have 'subscribed' to (clicking the link in the email notification).

Being on Woosh, it's a bit like dial-up when it comes to speed, but I can't say I have noticed the pages loading any slower in Opera lately (or faster with the IE-based FeedDemon browser either)....

I did have a glitch the other day when posting a response - but can't remember which browser I was using, but I put it down to editing the post too close to the end time...

544959 2007-04-28 10:19:00 I am running FF 2.0.0.3 and there has been no issues at all, but then I did change a few settings to speed up loading times :nerd: The_End_Of_Reality (334)
544960 2007-04-28 10:31:00 Well I WAS using IE until I found it didnt ask for a username/pw on every site including this lol. (But did on some).

So, decided to install FF again.

I cant be stuffed typing my username/pw in here everytime I come back.

544961 2007-04-28 10:36:00 I use opera 9.2 on vista and it hasn't crashed, and I dont expect it too.

IE is crap and FF is crap cleaner (ie toilet paper).

544962 2007-04-28 10:40:00 Opera and Firefox work fine here, though sometimes pages take a little while to load. FoxyMX (5)
