545959 2007-05-01 06:07:00 I was having a quick flick through the forum this morning when I noticed a PM. I opened the PM and noticed the member had been "banned". As I had a doctors appointment I deleted the PM without thinking that it should probably be reported to the moderator. No idea why this person PM'd me and all the message said was "Hi how are things going" or something to that effect. Can't recall the name but it was only 6 or 7 characters long (lower case). How can a banned member PM me-unless it was sent before he was banned? I don't know anyone personally on this forum as far as I know. Any way of finding out who this character is? Is there a log somewhere of recently banned members that could jog my memory as to his list name for future reference?
Regards Gordon.

545960 2007-05-01 06:21:00 I think everyone might have got it Gordon, just some n00b spamming forum members. Chances are between the time you went to the doctors and when you got back he got a good whoopin with the ban stick! Pete O'Neil (6584)
545961 2007-05-01 06:21:00 A super friendly fella called "turing" who decided to spam via PM got his butt whipped by Bruce this morning. The PM was kindly forwarded to the Mods to bring it to our attention.

It is probably the same guy, who basically said "Hello, I'm new here and just wanted to say "hi". How's it going?" followed by his spam link.

Ring a bell? :)

Yup Jen that's the little b****r . I knew it began with a "tur"-something (turd springs to mind but I could not possibly comment!) . Just can't figure out how the little fink sent me a PM when he was already on the banned list? Slippery little sod . Is he permanently banned or is this just a smack on the wrist or what? He must have had some input to the forum before, unless he has just registered to get his spam through?
Regards Gordon .

545965 2007-05-01 06:47:00 It was Turing. I thought he was genuine till now. qazwsxokmijn (102)
545966 2007-05-01 06:52:00 It was a permanent ban. Some people just register and then use the PM system to spam with. Unless people tell us this is happening, we can't deal with them.

Some twit spammed me once via PM, obviously not noticing I was a Mod. Mind you, that doesn't stop spammers post their crap over the forums when there is at least one Mod showing as being online. My best record was thread deleted and member banned in under 30 seconds of post appearing .
