| 545975 | 2007-05-01 05:22:00 | is this a joke, adsl2+ is old tech, ok its going to be faster, but with over loaded exchanges its not going to make much differnce, we are only just geting adsl2+ when most other counterys are phasing it out for faster fiber optic. this is a joke to little to late i say, if they realy wanted to fix things offer 50:1 or 25:1 exchanges like most other counterys that would fix alot of isuses, due to the distance away from my exchange i probly wont be able to get much faster BB than i get now go large unlimited (limited) at about 128k up and down |

| 545976 | 2007-05-01 05:28:00 | I was going to shift closer to the exchange, but couldnt find anywhere to put my house, so I decided to move the exchange closer to me, they said I couldnt do that either as I didnt know what I was talking about, go figure. | Rob99 (151) | ||
| 545977 | 2007-05-01 05:40:00 | First of all, get off Go large ***....Anything with Telecom, Go, or Large in the name is gonna give you intention to post stuff like this. Sure, ADSL2 will not be great, but it -should- be better than what we have now. |

You could move to wellington and chrsitchurch where they do have cable, but the reason why it hasn't been extended, is because Telstra aren't willing to invest in NZs infrastructure, due to their being a very low payback on the investment. Also blame the government, they should be investing in the countries infrastructure with our tax money. The reason they can't spend any money is because the country is in such financial trouble at the monment. We are importing far more than we export, our dollar and interest rates are so high that exporting companies are moving offshore. |

| 545980 | 2007-05-01 05:59:00 | Come on guys what theyre doing is right. It poped into my head few days ago. Since new zealand is slow in technological development it is less likley to have Any terrorist team think about new zealand as their target. i mean think about it. if 1 terrorist wants to contact another terrorist, it will charge him 1.80 per min. if he has a vodafone network cell phone. if he wants to share his plan of action with other members via internet.....he will probably loose his temper here. & we know why. these are just few things i can think off. but really sometimes i think its good that new zealand is behind all the other countries. atleast most of us get good sleep at night & we dont have to put up with terror. god bless our free land. ... |

In The last two days Xtra Go Large has been good, I have been getting 200KB/s - 300Kb/s!! :D Sure, ADSL2 will not be great, but it -should- be better than what we have now. That is if Telecom doesn’t screw it up like having 128K upload etc... |

| 545982 | 2007-05-01 06:41:00 | What everyone seems to forget when bitching about the state of broadband in NZ is that Telecom is a major shareholder in the only cable coming into NZ. Even if companies decided tomorrow to build multiple high speed network throughout NZ and provide Telecom with competition, they still have to buy wholesale internet from Telecom. | Pete O'Neil (6584) | ||
| 545983 | 2007-05-01 07:06:00 | I dont expect any major innovations or significantly cheaper prices within the next few years when it comes to broadband. Obviously I dont have my hopes up haha. Internet and cellular calling is laughable in this country... It is elsewhere too, i realise that. |
