2007-05-02 10:59:00 | Just done some quick comparisons from the respective websites: Xnet: Max download/128 upload with 5Gb cap and reduced speed above that: $39.07/month Slingshot: 2Mb download/128 upload with 1Gb cap and reduced speed: $39.95/month (without tolls going through them) Am I missing something? Or is xNet simply the much better deal? No, sounds like the xnet deal is better. But don't assume Max download will be any faster in practice than 2mb depending on yer luck with location.

2007-05-02 11:41:00 | Because they are a wireless service, your locality is vital in achieving a good connection. Otherwise, packet loss and slow speeds result. Also, they are apparently terrible for gaming purposes, as high pings are an issue with woosh (or at least they were a while ago). | Fidelius (10676) | |

2007-05-03 04:16:00 | I was on xnet for a year and had no problems ever. Fast net, no connection problems. I then changed to Go Large after being suckered in. Back to Xnet now, its still awesome. The thing is, with Xnet there isnt a contract either - There arent many ISP's providing who don't have a contract. So I say go with Xnet, if, for some reason you dont like it - change from them and it wont cost you anything (not that you will) Honestly, awesome internet service, and customer support is actually Human. Their techs will call YOU if they are to busy to take your calll, and they actually help you on the spot.

2007-05-03 08:25:00 | And one thing failed to mention about Xnet - you only pay for the data you use so if you go 5GB and only use 2GB that month that's all you pay for making it a couple of dollars cheaper still. With Xnet myself and recommend it all the time. :2cents:

2007-05-03 11:47:00 | Woosh supply wired broadband as well as wireless. Didn't woosh buy Quicksilver. I think woosh realised that their wireless service didn't cut it compared to the speeds you can get with ADSL technology, so they have now gone to adsl. Also woosh seem to have stopped expanding their wireless service, as I am in a high population suburb of wellington, but they still haven't got to our area. Not that I would use them now anyway, but I did consider them a few years ago when it first came out, and it was priced competitively with ADSL with unlimited usage.
