546031 2007-05-01 10:59:00 I have 2 year old Acer Extensa 2302LC with a 40gb Hard drive the C: drive is full could someone advise is it worth getting a bigger hdd or reformat my existing one. I need advice which hdd to upgrade to? micky (7329)
546032 2007-05-01 11:03:00 I would get a bigger one as it won't take you long to fill it back up again.
At least a 80GB 120 + would be better.

Seagate is a pretty reputable brand.

546033 2007-05-01 11:03:00 Depends if u want to install a lot of programs on a hard drive. Obviously you do.

Since this one is full.

And it depends on how much u want to spend to get another / bigger hard drive.

They range from 10-20GB to over 400-500 GB.

546034 2007-05-01 11:23:00 Yes I wouldn't mind getting a bigger hdd what model number should I be looking for, tried looking at the Acer site no information there! micky (7329)
546035 2007-05-01 11:25:00 Speedy...Just out of curiosity. Would a 300GB HD draw more power to run than an 80GB HD. As an example? PJ Poppa John (284)

Dont think so, it'd still run off the same PSU. As a smaller hdd.

It's just bigger.

SATA might draw less power than IDE. I'm not too sure tho

Doesnt really matter what model.

Any sized hdd would work. And if the motherboard/system supports SATA, you could get one of these instead.

You dont have to get an Acer hard drive (I don't think they make hdd's anyway).

Is just an example.
