547295 2007-05-05 05:52:00 To get the DNS IP you will need to ring your ISP.
Incase your xtra their dns is: DNS is Primary: 202.27.158.40 Secondary DNS is: 202.27.156.72

But you shouldn't have to put in a static IP address, regardless of what port forward.com say

I'm not familar with your router, but follow the guide at port forward.

Goodluck

547297 2007-05-05 06:40:00 Try this.

Go to Local Area Connection
Open Properties go to Internet Protical (TCP/IP), Click on properties

Click on
Use the following IP address

IP address: 10.1.1.2
Subnet Mast: 255.0.0.0
Default Gateway 192.168.2.1

Click on
Use the following DNS server address

Preferred DNS server: (slinghot's primary address)
Alternate DNS server: (slinghot's secondary address)

Click OK.

Failing that ring Slingshot to confirm you have the right DNS

547298 2007-05-05 06:40:00 Looking at the specs of your router, it is only a single port router.
Therefore only one computer will connect to it.
Because of this, your router will assign you the same IP address every time you connect to it.
With this in mind, change your ip settings back from static to dynamic (DHCP), take note of what IP address you are assigned, and use that in the portfowarding guide.

547299 2007-05-05 06:53:00 just checked and its already on dynamic, i also tried the sugestion Above and it doesnt work, if i ph slingshot what exactly am i asking for? thanks :) lisamarie01 (6731)
547300 2007-05-05 07:02:00 this thing is doing my head in lol. lisamarie01 (6731)
547301 2007-05-05 07:26:00 Ask for there DNS Servers.

they will give you 2 numbers a Primary and Secondary address. Put them in Internet Protical (TCP/IP) Properties.

Like I said earlier you shouldn't have to use a static IP address to forward ports you could just use Obtain IP Address Automatically.

547302 2007-05-05 07:30:00 yeah thats what we were doing all this time (obtain automatically) and it doesnt work we only have low id,and going thru the port forwarding site it says i need a static ip address which is what this dns thing is all about right? i have all the other numbers right lol will try and give them a ring. thanks lisamarie01 (6731)
