546636 2007-05-03 06:43:00 I'm in the process of generating subtitles for a movie I have, and I started off by saving them as a SubRip (.srt) file.
It seems that SubRip doesn't support colour coding at all, so I did a little research and found out that SubStation Alpha (.ssa) files do support it, but I can't see how, and when I do save the file, the colour coding seems to disappear.
Has anyone worked out the best way to save colour formatting for subs, and know a good program to use to encode them afterwards ?

546637 2007-05-03 07:52:00 try www.aegisub.net
srt only contains text
try ass files
Substation Alpha the program itself is old and dead

try Aegisub.. some other alternatives are Sabbu, Medusa or Subtitle Workshop
but don't know if they're still active

depend what codec you use the program you use will be different
xvid/divx worked nicely with virtualdub/mod

but now I think if you want to go with h264..try MeGui

good luck~
