546522 2007-05-03 01:59:00 I have a pc that is bringing up the following error during start up on a Win XP Pro system:

lsass.exe - System Error.

When trying to update a password, the return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct.

Then it reboots.

Any ideas anyone.

546523 2007-05-03 02:09:00 Have u done a scan for malware/spyware/viruses etc?

Get hijackthis in my sig below. Put it in its own folder, then run it click on scan and save a log.

Copy and paste the log back here.

546524 2007-05-04 01:15:00 From my research so far, lsass.exe is a window system file.
I know there is a virus or malware program of a simlar name, isass.exe.
From what info I have gotten so far, the problem may have been caused by the boy who uses the pc. Sounds like he likes to fiddle with it.

I wonder if he has accidently deleted a file, if he has, how can it be fixed?
