| 547121 | 2007-05-06 05:11:00 | Thanks Trev. I'll look at a 6600gt (or a 7600gt if a cheap one can be found). |

| 547122 | 2007-05-06 21:25:00 | Gamers are an elitist bunch - always telling you you need the most expensive stuff. the Ti4200 was a great card in its day giving the best bang for buck, the 6600GT was the next card to hold this position and is significantly faster. On a good system a 6600GT can handle doom3 at ultra quality 1024x768 and manage approx 40 fps so it's still pretty good. If you want a stopgap solution to squeeze another year or so out of your machine and are prepared to accept that some latest games may have to be set to 800x600 and have AA & AF turned off then the 6600GT is fine, for the games you mentioned it will play them no problem at all. If you want more than this odds are you need a system upgrade anyway, as a guide of sorts go here www23.tomshardware.com and put in the cards you are interested in - not everyone likes this site but the benchmarks should be accurate |

| 547123 | 2007-05-06 23:07:00 | Thanks thats an interesting link. I'd really like to buy the 7600gt as was mentioned earlier but its hard justifying spending twice as much money when an upgrade looms in the near future. So, it's the 6600gt for me. |
