I had to boot into safe mode and changed the msconfig.

547345 2007-05-06 01:24:00 One of the pleasures of computers is being able to tweak the settings to your own desires.

However, as I have learned through bitter experience, you have to be very careful about what you tweak! Even tweakUI can land you in serious problems if your not careful.

For every tweak there is a down side, which may not be apparent at the time - a wise man/woman would make sure they know how to undo the tweak, or at the very least leave system restore switched ON, with a new restore made BEFORE every tweak.

It saves a lot of bad language and regret :)

547346 2007-05-06 04:30:00 It always concerns me when websites suggest that you turn off UAC. It defeats the whole purpose of using Windows Vista on the basis of better security.

UAC is a load of crap that gets in the way of using windows properly.
If you have decent antivirus/firewall then UAC is not needed.

All you need is a LOT of common sense and turn off UAC....

If you are new to computers or afraid of nigerians leave it on.
