547214 2007-05-05 04:24:00 My wife has a Asus Z53Jc Notebook with Vista Home Premium. Neat picture slide shows as screen savers so thought would try connecting the TV-Out S-Video port to the Plasma TV!
There is a cable with the laptop that can plug into this port – S-Video to RCA so tried that into a RCA IN on the Plasma…………just a big blank.
Tried to find some Vista Settings but no joy – any suggestions? Knew it would not be that easy!!
Many thanks

547215 2007-05-05 04:54:00 Are the WDM drivers for the GFX chipset installed?

It does work, I have had my PC running via VO on my Plasma, but what I would rather do is if the Plasma has an analogue PC input and the laptop has a screen output I would get a cable from DSE and run it that way, it is better IMO (I have also had my PC running via this and 42 inch gaming :nerd:  :D is... AMAZING!! )

547216 2007-05-05 05:04:00 Yes the TV has a PC input but from the other room do have it hard wired from the laptop area to the Pasma with a twin RCA - will that not work.
Sorry but "WDM drivers for the GFX chipset installed" means nothing to and old sod!!
Many thanks

547217 2007-05-05 05:32:00 Yes, it will work, but all I was saying is that the VGA cable (PC in) will be easier than having to tweak the settings for the TV, when I hooked up my mediabox to the TV via VO it took about half an hour of tinkering to get the settings right (it was displaying in black and white and very grainy after booting up, but while booting the XP splash screen was fine) so I just got one of these cables and plugged it in and away I went, so much easier than playing with the settings IMO

Heh, my bad :p the chipset will need WDM drivers to display on the screen. What is the video chipset that it has?

547218 2007-05-05 05:43:00 Have the laptop turned off.
Plug everything in and turn the Plasma on and set it to the correct AV input.
Then turn the laptop on.
It should automatically detect the Plasma.
What would be even better would be to buy a VGA cable to connect the laptop to the Plasma.
