547085	2007-05-04 22:54:00	I've got an new Toshiba A100 laptop running XP Home and it only powers on when plugged into the power adapter. If i pull the power plug out it switches off immediatley and wont power up. This has to e broken no? or is there some weird power setting for this, it is currently set to portable/laptop power scheme in Windows and looks OK. Any ideas??	borax (7078)

Looks like it's a faulty (dead) batttery. Since it is new, why don't you take it back the where you bought it and let them solve the problem?	bk T (215)
547087	2007-05-05 00:12:00	Have you allowed for an overnight charge of the battery? Often brand new laptops require a long charge as they don't come fully charged and ready to work. If it has had a long charge, then it is definitely a warranty issue, so contact the seller.	pheonix (36)

547089	2007-05-05 02:32:00	It's a new computer. I'm sure it came with some sheets of paper with printing on. Some of them will have been stapled into cardboard covers. These strange things are called books, or manuals. Read The Fine Manual. :groan: It will probably have a section called "Getting Started" or something like that. :D	Graham L (2)
