| 546768 | 2007-05-04 00:54:00 | Hi there, I have nortons and it keeps popping up a malicious script for agent.exe I did a search on my computer and found one agent.exe10b4baea.pf which is located on my c:\windows\prefetch I have been to nortons homepage and talked with a consultant who couldn't help me instead wanted to charge me to have someone diagnose my computer to rule this agent.exe out if its a virus or malware etc. So here I find myself asking for assistance can any one tell me if they know anything about this and how would I go about finding out if it's something one of my programs on my computer needs? or is it in fact a virus or something else? Oh and yes I've done a total virus check as well as two spyware checks. So far those checks are clean so I'm confused about this agent.exe any help would be greatly appreciated thanks kindly in advance :) |

| 546769 | 2007-05-04 01:13:00 | Get trojan remover in my sig below, update it then run it. Then click on scan. Then select the 3rd-7th option in the utilities menu. See if it picks anything up It could be a trojan as a trojan does use that name (www.sophos.com) And get hijackthis in my sig below. If u want. Put it in its own folder, run it then click on scan and save a log. Copy & post the log here But some other programs do use agent.exe. ie: Some Dell systems do, Forte agent, Acronis Disk Manager. Any of these installed? |

Thank you again for the reply and help :) |
