548003 2007-05-07 06:40:00 Hey, SOMEONE (it was'nt me!!!) formatted my C: drive the other night and I had all of my photos and stuff on that drive. I re-installed windows xp (Home) and did a google search and came up with "GetDataBack," a nifty lil program that does what i need... only problem is, its the trial version. When I run the trial it finds, and I can see all of my photos, except i cant do anything about it (Restore or Copy and Paste them).
Anyone know of any programs that will do what I want, preferably without paying for it? That GetDataBack is too expensive man!!!

Any advice would be appreciated.

548005 2007-05-07 08:01:00 It would be agood idea to install the recovery program onto a different drive than the one you want to recover the files from. radium (8645)
548006 2007-05-07 08:38:00 Like a flash drive perhaps beeswax34 (63)

If they're very important files, have the data recovered professionally. It can cost mucho $$ though.

In the meantime, don't use the drive, you'll make it much harder to get useful data off it.

548008 2007-05-07 09:43:00 I've found 'Stellar Phoenix' to be pretty good in the past. It does crash easily though, but as long as you leave it alone it usually works well. Erayd (23)

548010 2007-05-07 19:32:00 I used this very successfully on a memory card belonging to a friend that had been through a very old airport scanner in India . Recovered 92 of 126 photos

The rest sadly were corrupted .
