| 547637 | 2007-05-06 04:09:00 | It'd be too hairy to root out codecs of your system. Just grab and install ffdshow (codecs.com). It's one of the first things I put on a fresh install. Waay better than any all-in-one pack (those of which usually use ffdshow to cover 90% of the video formats anyway). It's about 3.6 MB, just grab the top one on the list of versions if your not sure which to grab. | sal (67) | ||
| 547638 | 2007-05-06 04:26:00 | Thanks, I'll see if it covers MPEG2 (That's what format I have been saving the files as). I remembered I had installed Power DVD or ASUS DVD. I installed Asus DVD - now Media Player displays a yellow/green screen with the audio. Asus DVD does not provide the time bar like AverTV and Media Player. | JaceKiwi (2561) | ||

| 547640 | 2007-05-07 06:34:00 | I don't convert. I record as MPEG2 because MPEG1 is too low a resolution and/or bit rate is too low. I've installed Asus DVD - I've found the Time Bar works the same as MS Player and AverTV. However, the right arrow function (step forward 10secs) is very usseful. So will still use AverTV on the other PC, which also has ASUS DVD.. |
