547392 2007-05-05 09:30:00 The BIOS detectes it fine, but Windows Device Manager says the drivers were loaded successfully, but can't find the drive. I have booted into my diagnostic partition and tested it, and it passed. All cables are connected properly. Help! :badpc: pcuser42 (130)
547393 2007-05-05 09:43:00 Have you tried booting into safe mode? radium (8645)
547394 2007-05-05 21:15:00 No, I'll try that when I get time. :p pcuser42 (130)
547395 2007-05-05 22:08:00 Nope, same problem in safe mode. :badpc: pcuser42 (130)
547396 2007-05-05 22:35:00 Take it back and replace it with a better one, if its under 1 yr.

Is it the only cd/dvd in the case, and not on the same ide as a hdd, and jumpered properly?

547397 2007-05-05 22:43:00 I'll try it in another computer before I replace it, it is jumpered properly, and on the secondary channel (I have 2 hard drives, both on primary channel).

Edit: And it'll cost to send it back: I bought it from Ascent.

547398 2007-05-05 23:02:00 I tried it in another PC, and it works perfectly. It has to be a software or cable problem. pcuser42 (130)
547399 2007-05-05 23:05:00 If u used another cable in this other PC, then yup the cable u were using is most probably knackered. Or u connected the wrong end to the cd.

Change it. I doubt the drivers would be the prob unless theyre corrupted or something.

547400 2007-05-05 23:23:00 I just changed the cable, but no difference. There is also a Windows error sound heard on startup but no dialog box to go with it. (It happened from the start, but didn't think it had something to do with it.) pcuser42 (130)
547401 2007-05-05 23:25:00 And has the cable got the blue connector on one end or not?

If it has did u connect it to the mobo?
