| 547438 | 2007-05-05 09:50:00 | I am having trouble shutting down my laptop... around 50% of the time the screen remains on, with only the mouse arrow showing, when I shut it down. The fan continues to cool the unit, and battery will drain if not plugged in. I have to hold the power-on button down for a few seconds to completely turn it off. It starts up again as normal, without any problems. I am running XP professional on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Any ideas why it may have started to do this... Is is a symptom of something more major going to happen to PC? Thank you for any help! |

If the beginning of the problem coincided with installing some software or plug-in card then uninstall/remove it. |
