548444 2007-05-08 23:13:00 Trademe is good - apart from that you would have to look in the normal PC hardware places - warehouse, warehouse stationary, harvey norman etc etc. wratterus (105)
548445 2007-05-08 23:36:00 Rewritable disks with a print once label wouldn't be big sellers, do you need +RW? PaulD (232)

548447 2007-05-08 23:40:00 QMB Computers. I got a pack of 50 cd-r discks and a pack of printable DVD-r printable disks for around $35.00 the lot. Why would you want prinable RW's, it seems to be a bit self defeating to print a re-writable. Blank disks are so cheap why re-write? JackStraw (6573)
548448 2007-05-09 00:03:00 Minor thread hijack here - where's the best place to buy DVD-RAM discs, and what sort of price should I be looking at? I've looked at the national chains (DSE, HNs, NLs) and the best price I could find was about $20 for a pack of three (panasonic brand). Is this reasonable? Lizard (2409)
548449 2007-05-09 00:36:00 Got a pack about 18 months ago from Eden computers but a huge wall of silence from them. Yes do need +RW Printable - they are used for evidence from a CCTV system. stuffed (1469)
548450 2007-05-09 01:04:00 Yes do need +RW Printable - they are used for evidence from a CCTV system.

Still puzzled, does the CCTV system use the disks as storage rather than a daily tape or will it only write to +RW?

Dick Smith sell Printable DVD+RW.

548451 2007-05-09 02:23:00 Thanks found them at DSE. Have found that these are the best for collecting video evidence from the PC based DVR and passing onto those involved in taking it further! stuffed (1469)
548452 2007-05-09 02:56:00 A little more info would have been useful, what town? do you prefer a shop or are you happy to buy online?

In Hamilton I buy all my blank DVD's from PBTech, they have a good range and reasonable prices. Stay away from "El Cheapo" brands - they will just give you grief.

After a lot of online reading I finally settled on Verbatim as my disk of choice, they usually rate in the top 3, are available locally, and are quite cheap. Haven't had a problem since, used to have quite a few.

Taiyo Yuden seems to be the one most commonly recommended, but they are not available in Hamilton that I've found. You can get them online at www.blankcd.co.nz
