2007-05-10 00:43:00 | Paul.....on my screen, pages 1 and 4 are the 'outside' pages, with 2 & 3 on the inside. I want to put a pic on page 1 (front) message on page 3 (right hand 'inside', and business add. on back, which is page 4. As I've mentioned, it looks great on the Publisher screen, but rubbish on 'print preview' panel, and when printed, there are marker lines showing in parts, on outside corners. I resized my pic in PSE 2, hoping it would improve things, but no. :annoyed:

2007-05-10 01:05:00 | What are you starting from? Many of the wizard type cards assume printing on 1 side of a page and folding twice and are numbered as you describe. I was starting from a blank publication style "Tent Card". That only has 1 fold. Marker lines may be optional to aid cutting and folding.

2007-05-10 01:44:00 | Paul, I started from a blank publication, and divided the 'card' with box for pic on r.h side, and then box for text on l.h side. Tent card was too BIG. Wonder if it's worth another try? | Maryann (2010) | |
2007-05-10 01:59:00 | What size card are you printing on? Initial layout screen probably assumes A4 paper 210x297mm. Your options are to size and position your picture etc leaving blank paper that is cut off or change printer size option. I don't know of any 150x200 that you could just print to. Also do you want the picture to go right to the edge? Most inkjet printers can only do that on common sizes of photo paper. | PaulD (232) | |
2007-05-10 03:23:00 | As I mentioned at the beginning of post, I am attempting to use a 6 x 4 postcard size, Paul, folded in half . When finished, this is the size my friend wants . Just 6 x 4 folded once . I have reset etc etc, but it doesn't come out right . Reset paper size . . . . size in printer . . . on and on and on . I go away and think of another way, then try again . Just can't get it right . No . . . don't expect it to go to edge . Thanks .

It seens to be very difficult to perform a simple task with programmes which are alleged to do anything. :( You could even try making a pasteup, then scanning it into the computer. :) |

2007-05-10 03:53:00 | I was thinking you meant each visible face was 6x4. I've just tried it using 6x4 stock and it works ok. I set the printer options to 6x4 portrait and PUB2000 shows each page on the layout screen as 3x2. I don't know about 2003 but this version doesn't show both pages that will be printed at the same time together. Using a card layout just helps keep things on the right side of the fold. You could do it as 2 pages so long as you know where things should go. If you're still stuck PM with an email address and I'll send this .PUB file.

2007-05-10 08:45:00 | Graham - Success at last, with help from friend in Canada, who worked through the whole thing with me on Messenger . I was putting the 6 x 4 into the printer the wrong way, and also sometimes forgetting to alter the PRINTER setting as well as in Publisher . :waughh: PaulD . . . . that was very kind of you to take the trouble to go through the steps like that, and you are so right . I was forgetting, at times, to alter the dratted printer settings properly . You can see from the above, to Graham, that everything is sorted and I had 4 cards hot off the press to show to my friend tonight . . . . . . . but she didn't call in, naturally . :D Thanks guys, for helping me with this . Very much appreciated .
