548221 2007-05-08 05:27:00 Hey guys,

Downloaded a game client from here: www.gamershell.com : and everytime I try to extract it (its a normal zip folder) it freezes at 3 quarters of the way through.

Inside the folder is a client (exe) a IE link and a word doc. It freezes at the same place during extraction and then when I click next it says not responding...

Is there anyway to get it to work? When I cancel out of the extraction, the "extracted" folder is on the desktop, but is 2gb less than the zip one, and when I click on the client in it, it lags like hell for a while and eventually opens a window asking me where to extract it to, so I choose what is already chosen (desktop) and then it comes up with a message saying "7-zip diagnosis message *Location of where I selected it to go, being the desktop" and then an option to close..then nothing happens.

Any help without having to download it again would be appreciated (3gb out of 10gb per month is a lot)

548222 2007-05-08 05:35:00 Have you got enough space to expand the zip file into? PaulD (232)

548225 2007-05-08 05:43:00 Try using Winrar

If not it could possibily be a hardware or windows issue

548226 2007-05-08 05:44:00 NTFS...

Just used Winrar, gave me a diagnostic message saying "The archive is in an unknown format or damaged"

Lots of people have used this download and said it has worked.

548227 2007-05-08 05:51:00 Sounds like it got corrupted during the download. No choice but to redownload it if that is the case. FoxyMX (5)
548228 2007-05-08 05:57:00 There's no way I'm gonna redownload it, already at 46% of my mb usage for the month, and it's only the 8th!

I'm trying a program called 7-zip to extract it.

548229 2007-05-08 06:09:00 Try another program for unzipping then. See if that unzips it properly. Speedy Gonzales (78)
548230 2007-05-08 06:31:00 Winrar is pretty good at telling weather it is corrupt or not and BTW just because others have DLed it with no problems does NOT mean you are guarenteed to get it fine The_End_Of_Reality (334)
