| 548152 | 2007-05-08 00:34:00 | Hi A mate went and bought a new laptop from Dick Smith. It is running Vista and he set everything up last night. When he goes to type in an e-mail address and he presses shift+2 to get the @ symbol he actually ends up with a " symbol. So he tries pressing shift+' and ends up with the @ symbol. Is there any way to fix this. I have done a google search and found some articles on dword and registry editing and have done a forum search and have only found articles about swapping ctrl and alt keys etc etc. It is an Acer Aspire 5102WLMi laptop and the link is here: www.dse.co.nz I told him to take it back and get it replaced but he has spent some time setting it up how he wants it and would rather not go through that again if there is an easy fix. Any suggestions would be great. Cheers. |

Similarly hit the ' key and you get a ' but hit the shift+' key and you get the @. None of the keyboard settings have any effect. |

It was changed by pressing shift ctrl and another key to change it from UK to USA. read manual if available, it should be listed somewhere. |
