| 548111 | 2007-05-07 23:10:00 | Have family over for a month staying at mum's they want to have net access but well mum doesn't. Anyone know of any companies that have net access for 4 weeks? they'll bring a laptop with Wifi or dial up should b ok thks!:thumbs: |

I am not sure if Starbuck's cafes also have free Wi Fi and some BP service station Wi Fi Hotspots. Note: If using WiFi in a public area, make sure you have suitable password enabled protection or encryption on your PC to save others snooping around your system without your knowledge - commonly known as "wardriving" or something. |

| 548114 | 2007-05-07 23:21:00 | Pretty sure most ISP's will give you a dialup account almost straight away which could then simply be cancelled after the month. Try Slingshot. | 548116 | 2007-05-07 23:39:00 | THKS for the suggestions guys mum lives by Botany that's east AKL and I'm in Ellerslie central AKL so networking the PC's is a bit out of the question:D and going into town to use the Wifi is probably a bit far however The suggestion re giving m dial up is not bad I'm with Xnet and they give u a dial up to use I wonder if u can use both at the same time from 2 different locations???? :confused: and yes mummy not a PC user |

I think most ISP's give u the dialup option, in case ADSL dies. Somehow, I dont think you can use dialup somewhere else, if ADSL is working. |

| 548120 | 2007-05-07 23:53:00 | I've got a mate whose with slingshot and he uses dial up and adsl like that.. so maybe it would work. The ISP wouldnt lose out at all cause your still paying for both, if you use the dual up anyway. |
